Take off and landing Winds

I’ve discovered that airplanes veer against the direction of the wind rather than in same direction.
Why is that so?
Surely winds are supposed to push it in it’s direction?

Because the wind clashes with the rudder.

It is because the wind is going against the flow of the rudder and main body, if you have rudder going you can counter the wind and make the plane go straight. Hope this helps!

Also, in the weather category on the pause menu, the circle on the ring identifies where the wind is coming from not where it is going. I’m open to questions btw. :)
