hello. this is my first post in the community and i was quite nervous when writing this lol. so i play IF on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite 2021. most of the time the game runs quite smoothly and not too bad. however whenever i spawn into big airports like jfk and heathrow, the tablet overheats and lags extremely bad. i have been playing the game for around 3 months now and its became quite annoying because when i do ultra long hauls the game lags so much. my question is if my tablet is fine for if or its laggy to much.i bought it in late 2023. please let me know if i should buy a new tablet. here are the specs for it:
Based on the specs of the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and your description, it seems the tablet struggles with performance in high-traffic airports during long hauls. Overheating and lag are common issues with entry-level devices running graphically intensive apps like Infinite Flight.
If you’re planning to continue flying ultra long hauls or using busy hubs like JFK and Heathrow, upgrading to a more powerful tablet might be worth considering. Look for one with a stronger chipset (like Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 or higher), at least 6 GB of RAM, and good thermal management.
I will try saving up enough money for a new tablet like the iPad mini 7. i almost raged and destroyed it because when i was on approach for the runway at yyz airport the game crashed and it pissed me off so much since it was a 13 hr flight.
yeah. i thought about buying the s9+ when it was new and just came out since it was a identical price to the a7 lite. however when i was about to buy it my parents forced me to buy the a7 lite. pretty sad
If you’re considering the iPad Mini 7, that’s a solid choice, especially for Infinite Flight. Apple devices generally offer great optimization and stability for flight sims. However, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE is also worth looking into. It has a powerful chipset, good thermal management, and a larger display, which can be a plus for cockpit visibility and multitasking.
If budget is a concern, the S9 FE offers excellent value for its performance. But if you’re aiming for long-term reliability and smoother gameplay, especially busy airport approaches, the iPad Mini 7 might give you a more consistent experience.
Either way, both are major upgrades from the A7 Lite. Good luck with your decision
You mean Exynos? bruh that’s the worst shit out there. Better go for s10 tab with dimensity far better. Or even better would be Xiaomi pad 7 with 7+gen3 Just smokes that Exynos check out nanoreview for the comparison. Fe for samsung stands for Failed edition.
Xiaomi pad 7 comes with 7+gen3 and pad 7 pro comes with 8s gen3 and Red Magic comes with 8 gen3. All of them are good for gaming purposes something Samsung doesn’t shine at it while they have 1-2 years of software updates it shouldn’t matter much for gaming mostly. So pick your poison carefully if you prefer better performance or longevity with software updates that won’t make your tab any faster.
Exynos suffers from lack of optimisation and heating because their manufactured by samsung which is terrible look at snapdragon 888 and 8 gen 1 they were literally toasters lol. You can check the internet for more information I’m only being honest here.
