Sydney is at the start of a bomb cyclone at the moment. Max wave size over 10 meters (33 feet) is forecast and all runways but 25 were closed recently.

Turning onto the 25 approach, wind about 60kts at 3000AGL:
The wonders of automation partly. But actually, I didn’t have much crosswind near the runway, and gusts were a bit tame at that time, so the manual landing wasn’t really challenging (yet)

That must have been before noon or so? We tend to hear when 25 is in use, and yes, most of the time, silence. Not today for sure.
Btw, the Clovelly east beach cam, you can see the aircraft lights coming in live on the 25 approach over the ocean (top center in the sky, just now screenshot…and white water below):
Yeah, and those gusts are making it through to IF live. I just tried an approach to 25 again, but the crosswind was likely too strong for that runway now.
