Support Request: App crashes immediately on startup - Galaxy A90 5G (Android 12)

Hello,

I am experiencing a persistent crash on startup with Infinite Flight. When I tap the app icon, it opens for a split second and then immediately returns to the home screen (desktop).

Device Information:

Device: Samsung Galaxy A90 5G

OS: Android 12 (64-bit Operating System confirmed)

Storage: Plenty of free space available.

I have already tried the following steps without success:

Restarted the device multiple times.

Uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

Cleared Cache and Data for Infinite Flight, Google Play Store, and Google Play Services.

Reset “Android System WebView” (uninstalled updates).

Tested different WebView implementations in Developer Options.

Disabled Developer Options and USB Debugging.

Switched from 5G to “4G/LTE only”.

Changed DNS settings to Google DNS (8.8.8.8).

Verified that the device is “Play Protect Certified” in the Play Store.

Tried launching the app from the Samsung “Secure Folder”.

Despite all these steps, the app still won’t open. Could you please check my account logs to see why the handshake/startup is failing on this specific firmware?

It’s possible that this is the issue, given the crash-on-launch behaviour you are describing:

Especially given the A90 is a pretty old device now, it was released nearly 7 years ago. Cameron said on Discord that he is looking into it.

If you have the beta app, update to the latest build once it becomes available and see if the issue is fixed.

I’ve tried both the beta and standard versions, and I’ve also updated the beta to the latest version. The Play Store shows that both versions are compatible with my device. However, it still doesn’t work with either version; the problem persists.

Philippe’s been informed by another user. I imagine they’ll keep trying to find a fix. It’s probably not easy considering the incompatibility is at the core of the new rendering system.
