Super Savannah Flyout
Welcome to Savannah!
Savannah is a midsized city full of history and culture on Georgia’s coast, just north of the Peach State’s border with South Carolina. Each year, Savannah attracts millions of visitors to its cobblestone streets, parks, and notable historic buildings, all surrounded by the Spanish Moss synonymous with the city.
Savannah is steeped in culture, and home to one of the most famous HBCUs in the United States, Savannah State University, noted for it’s prestigious business program.
Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV)
Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is the area’s largest commercial airport, serving the Greater Savannah Metro Area as well as visitors heading to South Carolina’s nearby islands, most notably Hilton Head Island, which does have a small airport with limited passenger service across the East Coast.
Savannah’s first airport opened on September 20, 1929, offering service to Orlando and Atlanta with Eastern Air Express.
In 1958, the airport relocated to it’s current site, on Cherry Hill. In 1967, Grumman Aviation opened their first factory to build Gulfstream jets at the airport, which is still in operation.

If you would like to fly a commercial route to a different city than listed, I can amend that. A full list of routes from Savannah can be found HERE. There are also USAF stands that I can arrange if anyone is interested.
Savannah has two runways
10/28:
Concrete
9,351 feet (2850 meters)
1/19:
Concrete
7,002 feet (2134 meters)
Fun (or not so fun) Fact: Embedded in Runway 10/28 are the graves of Daniel Hueston and John Dotson, who lived in the early 1800s. When the runway was being extended, the Dotson’s descendants were not open to the idea of relocating the graves. Due to Georgia state law, they can’t be moved because of their historical significance, and the compromise was to pave over the graves, leaving the headstones exposed, flush with the runway’s surface. You can read about it HERE.
