Sun Country to The City of Angels

Minnesota Fun Fact

The 1st Minnesota Infantry Regiment was the first Union unit to engage at the Battle of Gettysburg. They captured the 28th Virginia Regiment’s battle flag and just never gave it back - it’s still on display at the Minnesota Historical Society. In 2000, when asked about returning the flag, then-governor Jesse Ventura said “Why? I mean, we won.”

To be honest, I didn’t pay too much attention to where I parked.

Orange and blue looks fantastic on a plane!

My Rationale (Partially - I could make it a whole essay)

The Atlantic definitely has its majorly important cities (New York, Miami, Rio, São Paulo, Cape Town, Dakar, Lisbon, Stockholm, etc.), it just doesn’t compete on scale to the Pacific (Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, Vancouver, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, Jakarta, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City, Sydney; I could go on).

The countries on the Pacific Rim make up over half the world’s GDP, and it’s undisputedly the most important trading region on the planet. When looking at the busiest container ports in the world, all but one of the top ten are on the Pacific (the odd one out being Dubai’s port, which isn’t on the Atlantic or Pacific).

Biologically, the Pacific is unbeatable. The Coral Triangle is the most marine bio diverse place on the planet. The Atlantic certainly is scenic, but you can’t really beat Fiji, the Great Barrier Reef, California’s coasts, Tahiti, and Alaska, just to name a few.
