This way my first time spotting at this location. I will have to go back here since it’s a very cool and close area to spot. It’s a little tricky to get to, since it’s on the French part of the airport and requires a car to get to.

The airport stretches between two countries?

Kind of… There is a road that is only accessible from Switzerland, that takes you to the “Swiss part” of the airport, but technically all of the airport is on French soil.

Never knew that… that means upon arrival you go through French border police?

It depends which exit you take. I always go through the Swiss side, so it’s Swiss border police. When you depart or arrive on a flight that doesn’t go to or from a Schengen destination, then there is either French or Swiss border police.

That’s very interesting. Both countries require the Schengen visa so I’m assume it’s not that big of a problem

Great pictures nonetheless, didn’t expect so many arrivals from Turkey :)

Thanks! Yeah we have quite a few flights to Turkey. Pristina is also very popular with sometimes up to 10 flights per day!

A bit random… is there a big population from Kosovo over in Switzerland?

Yeah there is quite a large population from Kosovo and the Balkan region in general

GVA/LSGG is like this too, the terminal is on the Swiss side but some of the spots are on the French side. When I went I think we crossed the border 3-4 times in under an hour.
