Summer 2024 Trip to Naija: Return Day 1 - Uyo to Lagos

Hello folks, welcome to our return trip as we left Uyo to fly back to Lagos before we fly back to 🌴 πŸ˜ŽπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ 305 Miami tomorrow via Frankfurt πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ. We had a wonderful time in Uyo as we had done fun things such as going to Nung Ukana, rode in the Keke around Uyo, going to our house, and thus the beach πŸοΈπŸ‡³πŸ‡¬. We’ve eaten lots of Nigerian food πŸ±πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ such as Afang and White Soup πŸœπŸ‡³πŸ‡¬, Jollof Rice 🍚 with goat meat, Rice and Stew 🍲🍚, Moi Moi, and all types of Naija Food πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ±. I also watched Nigerian movie πŸŽ₯πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬, featuring Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme, plus listened to Nigerian songs πŸŽΆπŸŽΆπŸ‡³πŸ‡¬. Besides our experience, I hope you enjoy our flight from Uyo to Lagos.

As it was time to head back to Lagos πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬, we packed up our bags πŸ’Ό and left the EEMJM Hotels 🏨 where Big Boy brought us to the airport for us to check in and get our boarding passes. Then we sat and waited inside the airport until we were called for boarding. Once boarding was called, that’s when we said goodbye πŸ‘‹ to Big Boy and went through security and then proceeded to the tarmac and here we are as we boarded our flight, which was on the same aircraft that brought us to Uyo, now heading back to Lagos. Good morning folks, welcome aboard Ibom Air Flight 511 service to Lagos πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ here we go

When boarding was completed, we started up our engines and left the commercial ramp, after the safety demo was demonstrated. Then we hopped on the runway, back taxiing to RWY 21 for takeoff out of QUO airport.

After back taxiing, we were cleared for takeoff as we turned around, entered right onto the threshold, and began our takeoff roll

And off we go as we lifted off RWY 21 QUO airport, heading west bound for Lagos πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬. Welp, there was a bit turbulence as we suddenly dropped a bit. But other than that, we climbed out safely without any injuries. In the meantime, goodbye Uyo πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬. We’ll c ya next time.

We banked right, heading west, and climbing out of Uyo, here is the view of Akwa Ibom that we flew over

Leveling off at FL240, we cruised over Ethiope West which is north of Osubi airport in Warri πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬. Then snack service had begun as we were served a box that features Meat Pie πŸ₯§, this time plantain chips, a bottle of water, and a yogurt 🍦. And yes, we were served a choice of either tea 🍡, coffee β˜•οΈ, or juice πŸ§ƒ. For me and Aunty Ini, we chose juice πŸ§ƒ which was Cocktail Juice 🍹 πŸ§ƒ. Then for Grandma, she chose Coffee β˜•οΈ, then Uncle Offiong got Tea 🍡. Then I listened to Nigerian Music πŸŽΆπŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ on my iPhone πŸ“± 🎧 while I chewed on bubblegum for the remainder of the flight.

A couple of minutes later, we began our descent in preparation for landing, aiming for RWY 18L LOS airport. Here we are at FL70, banking to our left, following that IKEJA1 STARS approach path, like I said aiming for RWY 18L, flying over Obafemi-Owode πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬.

And here we are on short final RWY 18L LOS airport before touch down

And we just landed in Lagos airport. Welcome back to Lagos πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬, taxiing to Gate B06 for arrival

And we made it back to Lagos πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ safely at Gate B06. So, time for us to grab our belongings and exit the aircraft, proceeding to baggage claim πŸ›„ and for us to be picked up by Bassey that’s taking us to this restaurant called Yellow Chilli Restaurant & Bar before taking us to the Lagos Ikeja Marriott Hotel 🏨 for our final day before heading back to the USA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ.

And that completes our trip from Uyo to Lagos on Ibom Air. I hope you enjoyed it and stay tune for our Lufthansa Airlines journey back to the πŸŒ΄πŸ˜ŽπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ 305 Miami tomorrow on Wednesday. Be safe and have a blessed day. See ya in the skies.
