I donât get what you mean by this
You said you donât need to spend time training in the training server because you have a PPL, he said that you do because you have 5 violations
Iâll probably just cancel my subscription then, even though I really donât want to as this is the best flight sim out there but, if I canât talk to someone with the authority to possibly change this and who works for infinite flight then I donât have much to go forward with
The only way I can see you being able to regain access to the expert server is by appealing your most recent violation.
To do this contact @appeals.
I have, but i got my own accusations about them
Whatâs even the point of whole of this? Expert server is already pretty much a playground full of trolls. If they reduce the requirements instead of rising them just because you got so many (probably deserved) violations, itâs gonna become a Training 2.0. You acknowledged the requirements when you purchased the sub and itâs your fault for not following the most basic ATC instructions we have in game.
You want to turn the expert server into training while you donât wanna fly on training yourself.
No, I just think (I know) I am worthy of regaining access of the expert server instead of waiting another 177 days for my first level 3 violation to clear. No one pays for that
Also who says that I canât try? Iâm not going to take a backseat and except that I should fly on the training server after getting used to the expert server for so long
If youâve contacted appeals then you have done everything available to you. I doubt that the IF team will lower the grade requirements.
Sorry, but I disagree with this post like most people here⌠Expert Server is supposed to be for pilots who want to have a professional experience, and lowering the standards for Grade 3 would bring many inexperienced pilots who are just not ready for that level of realism into the server.
Iâll be using myself as an example: Back in 2019, I had been a Grade 3 pilot for a while, and rarely flew in Expert, only Training. Then, one day I decided to join Expert to fly and I got a violation for doing something I wasnât supposed to do. That was when I realised I wasnât skilled enough for Expert.
Fast forward to around November 2020, I felt as if I had trained and learned from my mistakes enough, and finally decided to join back into Expert. Even then, I got 3 violations for Overspeeding accidentaly while being AFK. It never happened again, as it was a lesson to myself of never turning VNAV before youâre ready to descend.
My point is: Having a 5 violations limit in Grade 3 shouldnât change, because it forces you to learn and improve. Lowering those numbers would worsen the experience for everyone on the server.
Personally I feel it may not be worth it to wait 365 days for the violations to go away, which is making me scared to even go on the training server. Maybe a lower amount (but not too low), such as 8-10 months would be more suitable? 200-300 days.
I feel 200 days would be suitable too. But half a year would be even better.
Interesting. I personally would say no to the amount of violations as that is a thing that keeps the Expert Server more professional. Because you wouldnât want a person with 10 Level 2/3 violations coming on. Regarding the days that the violations last, I do agree with that. The time that it lasts is a little bit too long in my opinion and I think that deserves to be changed.
I think the standards should be left where they are. There are already enough trolls, and people who blatantly disregard the rules on purpose just because âthey canâ and no one is watching⌠Integrity? I think not
Imho if they do change it, I think the standards should be raised⌠You should only have 3 chances. Like baseball, 3 strikes and your out! Iâve been playing IF for over 6 years and I have not once received a level 2 or 3 violation. Follow the rules and youâll be just fine, if you want to screw around go on Casual. Thats the purpose of the serverâŚ
Anyway, sorry for my rant. Had to let some steam off lol!
But then again, the target audience of this simulator is children and teenagers, so⌠im not surprised ;)
The same thing happened to me although my last one wasnât my fault. I wasnât connected to the community so I couldnât report it.
You have a PPL yet you canât manager to figure out what a hold short line is based on the fact you have entered a runway several times without permission. Did you do that when you were in flight training? Did the FAA decide that since you did such a good job in the air, the hold short line wasnât that big of a deal?
As many have stated, they fly on expert to fly with fellow pilots that follow the basic rules. Hold short of a runway until you have permission to enter, fly assigned vectors and altitudes, etc. Lowering the standards for the few that canât figure it out, or simply donât care to doesnât make any sense.
Every consumer can vote with their dollars. This is obviously your choice. I think many more of us would vote with our dollars if we had to fly with a bunch of pilots that donât care to to follow simple procedures.
Looking at all the Level 2 and 3 violations you received, on the surface, they all look self inflicted. 2 âentering a runway without permissionâ, one âtaxiing through othersâ, two ânot following instructionsâ, and one ânot following ATISâ.
If you finished your PPL, you should know the difference between the right and wrong end of a hold short line, you should know how to look at the atis, and you should be diligent enough to listen to what approach or departure wants you to do. The rules wonât change because you want them changed due to a disregard for the rules or procedures which would get your license suspended in real life.
This is kind of in addition to Jasonâs comment above me, but also a little from me on it
6 violations within a 6 month period is quite substantial. Youâve also had two of your violations removed this year so realistically, it would be 8 violations. Asking for another one to go is too much. If you really wanted to join expert server, youâll have to wait out the time; or buy a new subscription on another account. These rules are put into place for a reason, to give expert pilots an expert feel.
