I’ll definitely have to try the Kai Tak and St Maarten routes. I’ve been slacking on flying to these airports, so I’ve finally got motivation to do so! Thanks!
You’re very welcome! Feel free to post your pictures here and let me know what you think. It’s always fun sharing these routes as you find those gems of a flight.
It’s always a pleasure to have these suggested routes handy. Appreciate the list
Just one qualm I had: Do you have any plans on posting a list of routes using realistic flight plans? (SIDs/STARs) I have flown some of the routes posted previously, but I had to edit it slightly so it follows realistic procedures.
As someone who takes this simulator very seriously (I’m sure others do as well), I think we should encourage pilots to create and use realistic flight plans. That can easily be jumpstarted with these suggested routes since this is probably the first place people come to when they don’t know any good routes to fly.
I understand though that it may be tedious to create elaborate and realistic flight plans for these many routes (commercial routes, at least). I just wanted to, however, bring this idea to the table as I think it’ll slightly improve the overall simulation experience.
Appreciate the realism and feedback but when these are created weeks and months in advance I simply can’t know the runway in use for the day you choose to fly them.
For this reason I keep the routes generic. ALL fixes are the actual fixes from the real life filed route. The only thing excluded is the SID/STAR. I feel I’ve provided a great deal of information, leaving some level of responsibility on the pilot to make their route more or less advanced.
Maybe eventually I’ll add one full route for each category, but I’d rather these be “plug and play” for those that don’t want to be bothered with more planning.
Thanks for your response to my concern. I’m glad a lot of preparation goes into these routes. I appreciate the team’s constant dedication.
I look forward to see an advanced/realistic flight plan in one of the future Suggested Routes topics. I also hope to see a future tutorial discussing advanced flight planning and flying techniques to encourage more Infinite Flight pilots to use them.
