I was playing IF just fine on my pixel 7 pro running Graphene OS (effectively a de-googled android). One day I went to reload a flight in progress and the game would just hang on the screen loading into the flight. It had been a while since I was flying that route so I just tried to start a new flight. The game loaded partially reloaded into the gate and then hung and crashed on me. I cleared cache and game data, reinstalled the game and had the same problem.
Now I am using a pixel 9 pro running stock android and having the same issues. I cannot load into a flight at any airport I’ve tried. At this point I’m not so sure what to do. The game was working fine after the most recent September update and now it is not. This issue has persisted across multiple installations and devices. Is there potentially some issue with my google account that is logging into the game?
Happy to try any further trouble shooting or supply logs if possible.
Here is a video showcasing the issue. Note, I was on a pro subscription when this began happening and I have since cancelled that subscription because of course I cannot use the app…
There’s currently an issue with Android 15 on certain devices.
We’ve determined the root cause to be a new graphics driver that was said to only be optional for Android 15 but it seems that Pixels are using it by default.
There is a workaround for this that you can try if you’d like to. But it requires enabling “Developer options”.
Would you like to give that a go?
If so (assuming Developer options are enabled)
Setting → System → Developer → ANGLE Preference → Infinite Flight → Switch from “Default” to “ANGLE”
Is there a debug IF is working on at the moment? I’m having the same issue on an 8 Pro, and this is the only thread I can find that has helped me find why this issue is present.
