Hello!

Because we’ve been experimenting with more localized pricing (similar to BigMac-index) in some regions for various business and marketing purposes.

Meaning it cant be same in all regions?

Not sure what you’re asking.
Prices will be different even if we set our “default” price the same, due to local regulations in regards to taxes etc.

Its not the same with other games

Seeing this made the economist in me wonder; what if Infinite Flight optimized its subscription prices by estimating both regional demand and users’ willingness to pay (WTP)?

In theory, a cost-based model could be used to find the profit-maximizing price for each region, aligning subscription costs more closely with local demand and WTP dynamics, while maximizing profit overall.

I might become the most hated member with this idea.

I can’t speak for others.
What I can tell you is that we set the default price in App Store / Play Store.
In some EUR-countries for example, the tax is included in the price and in others it’s slapped on top of the price. That’s entirely out of our control unless we start poking around for each country individually and adapt accordingly. But given how often those things change - it would be a full time job.

That’s kind of what we’re experimenting with in certain regions. Not quite but there are similarities.

If we are talking about OS Apple loves to take a cut from the developers hence everything on ios wll be a bit expensive compared to Android.

Seems to be a difference in currency between the stores there.
Apple is using USD for Ghana, Play Store is using GHS.

Why that is, is only something Apple can answer..

Yeah that’s right Apple doesn’t support regional currencies that much compared to Google. Some of my friends in Africa have told me it’s same for steam and most platforms out there.

Lol, Bruv I’m not even complaining, the price for me here in Nigeria is about 2.35 dollars a month. Whatever is making it that cheap, long may it continue.

Speaking of subscriptions, would it make sense to have a new sub option? Like a two days one, maybe at 5$. It’d be perfect for those that are busy all the time except the weekends.

Unless you’re really stupid, NO ONE would buy that. Why buy 2 days for $5 when you could buy en entire month for $11? But $11/mo is too expensive for me who flies only occasionally! If you’re just flying on the weekend, just rent a plane for (usually) $1 for 24h, and you get all other Pro features (except for the other planes, of course) - you probably won’t have time to fly many different planes anyway, so the one you rented, plus all of the free ones should suffice.

Coming from the same person who disagreed with custom iOS icons being Pro-only a few months ago, I’m shocked you’re open for such an awful deal.

Best option is just get a year sub for $80 :man_shrugging:

Don’t have to be rich to afford that…

Gee, no need to be rude, I was just asking.

What’s doing my head in is that I’m paying $2.5 a month and you proposing $5 for two days.

The prices are really very different in regions
