i want to discuss a tiny issue i’ve had with the rules for the screenshots & videos category, why are they so strict?
look, i get that rules need to be in place for the community itself to work properly without chaos, but they seem to strict and… useless(?).
i feel like some of them should change and/or get removed entirely, as they sound like mods wanted extra rules and came up with really anything.
and look—i am not being passive-aggressive, nor am i directing this towards anybody. this is a genuine question, and i really want an answer. personally, we should have more freedom—we really do. i get that most people on the category post casual screenshots, but most of them are generic. if we had less strict rules, there could be a rise in more colourful and unique screenshots/edits.

It must not include any images that contain photoshopped features that are currently not in-app (this includes aircraft and liveries and also clouds, landing smoke, lights, etc.)
still. i find the rule about editing your images a little strict.
if we can’t change those—why can’t we create a new, separate category, made for any type of screenshot, edited or not, on infinite flight? i still find the current rules quite strict. it limits some people at least.
Because we think the pictures should be representative of the app.
Don’t get me wrong here, but if you can’t work with that - you’ve misunderstood the purpose of photography
For the reason Benny mentioned about storage. It’s not something we have an abundant amount of.
well… as i mentioned earlier, isn’t it possible to make a new separate category? one’s for actually appreciating the game itself, and another one is just for edited screenshots.
also—don’t get me wrong, i am not an experienced photographer or anything, nor am i an elite at editing, not at all. i do my screenshots for fun, and i don’t have a giant imagination, so i really can’t come up with stuff that’s within the rules.
This goes into what I said about storage. Just because you put the pictures in a different category, doesn’t make them take up less storage.

Everything that goes “outside” of the sphere of discussing Infinite Flight related topics, are therefore limited.
You definitely can get unique photos within the rules if you know what you’re doing. Here are some of mine. Editing on all of those is simply cropping, increased contrast and colour correction:
And many many more, just scroll through @AvioesEJogos and I’s screenshot topics over the years. You learn to be creative within the rules over time, it’s not something instantaneous.
