Strange spottings in Miami

Hello all!
As some of you may now, I was in Miami for a while today and last Saturday. There, I saw some funky stuff. Among those were two Ethiopian 757s and some Southwest planes. Now what could they be doing in Miami? I also saw what looked to be a United 737 in the midst of being repainted in the new livery, along with some United 757d just chilling in a. Random spot. Can anyone explain some of this? Here are the pics:

Sorry, I didn’t quite get a good pic of the United I was talking about.

Also in the last pic, there is a strange looking plane next to the Atlas 747. Anybody know what that is?

On relation to southwest in Miami, if I’m not mistaken they have a charter flight that flies out of there and that’s all.

That plane next to the Atlas one is a dc8😄
Nice pics too

Ahh, that makes more sense.

You mentioned there was a United 737 being repainted there, and the Southwest 737 is in the old Southwest colors — so maybe the plane is being repainted painted there? The odd looking plane next to the Atlas 747 is a DC8.

Cool planes! When I saw this at first I was thinking I wonder if they spotted Suhas’ plane 😂

I didn’t even know Ethiopian has 757s. And truly lucky catch these days, a DC-8!

Haha lol.
By the way, I have to say, I am impressed by the E175, and I would actually recommend it to anyone else that’s up for it. I wasn’t actually looking forward to it. It’s Surprisingly nice, fairly quiet, and comfy. Windows are kinda weirdly high, but that’s pretty much the only bad thing.

Yeah I flew on the E190 (PHL-AUS) last month and it was surprisingly nice.

In my experience, the E175 is often much more comfortable than any mainline aircraft. A lot of trip reporters will say the exact same thing.

MIA is just a puddlesplash of weird aircraft types. Retired, cargo, private, under maintenance. It’s amazing to spot at.

They retired them a while ago. Presumably it’s being stored in Miami.

Couldn’t have said it better. I got a bunch of pics there.

PM me if you would like to see :)

Those are repair stations, which is why you see Southwest, Ethiopian etc. The last picture is the Skylease ramp.

United 757’s love soaking in the sun.

Looks like one of the Southwest planes has a cover over the “Southwest” logo, so it might be sold to a charter airline like Swift Air, which has taken former Southwest birds.

Nice pictures👍💪! Interesting types of aircraft at KMIA! 😳
