Strange Crash

Hey i‘m seachring for a answer to my recent inflight crash.

So i was on my flight from AKL to DFW in the 789.
About 3,5 hours before landing/descend i climbed to FL350.
Everything was fine and for the following hour i monitored everything. About 2,5 hours before landing everything was still normal (weight/fuel/speed/AP Settings etc)

I came back about half an hour later just to see that my flight has crashed and i was violated.
So i checked my replay. At some point (about an hour after reaching FL430) the plane started shaking up and down.

Nothing in Data or Settings has changed, Fuel was normal and enough and engines were still running.

So i don‘t have a clue what was the problem. I was over the West Coast entering Mexican Airspace.

Anyone got an idea what happened here?

Something just like this happened to me. Turns out I adjusted my AP speed right before going away, and during the process I disabled the AP speed accidentally. The plane slowly came to stall speed and bounced up and down like you mentioned.

787 family planes can’t fly more than 39,000 ft, as it nears the coffin corner.

This is why I don’t use the 787 family, it’s bugged and it happend to me also I got so close to a violation and stalled to crash. I nearly lost my grade 5 after that I decided to never fly the 787 until it gets reworked

Nice video! Great recommendation!

In IF you probably shouldn’t exceed FL390 but IRL the 787 family often goes beyond. You will see 787s reach FL430 quite often.

Yeh it’s horrible all round

As others have said, you’ve probably gone too high in this model on IF. Tip is to use this site for optimum flight levels at the different weights

That’s a bit strange…I fly the 787 43,000 with no issues.

I wad at 33000 feet and lost my grade 5 now…

Your violation that brought your grade down was due to Ground Overspeed. That does not happen at 33.000ft.
Let’s try to stick to facts and the topic at and trying to help the user instead.

Numerous people are flying the 787 daily and have no issues. Sure the aircraft is a couple of years old but the physics is quite decent except on higher altitudes where the pitch can be somewhat disturbing.

How heavy were you? If you are heavy that will happen.

If for some whatever reason when you’re flying and the plane starts shaking go to a lower altitude. Even if everything seems fine that’s a clear indicator that the plane is exceeding its potential. So if you ever do this flight again remember it can’t go beyond FL430 in infinite flight.

I never mentioned that I lost grade 5 because of that, I said I nearly lost grade 5 I’ll provide some extra proof if your in disbelief

At 60% load at fl350 should NOT be an issue. I know the correct load is 51% or less for this altitude BUT 10% of load for this heavy pitch up and down IS NOT NORMAL. My friend pacific or smth guy also has a recording of his aircraft suddenly pitching high during appr at 3500 ft or smth

Well why don’t you vote for it?
