STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND READ-Aviation Therapy

I dont normally post in the forum that often and when I do, its usually in a form of appreciation. Tonight I read a comment from a younger member and had to speak. The comment showed how much this young man was excited to be flying in an event tmw. How many of you get excited when an event you signed up for or created is finally here? It doesnt matter if you are young or old, that is a great feeling.

As a man that moves from my heart I was impacted. I think its pretty dope that during these times, a young kid has hope because he is flying in an online event the next day. That is called IMPACT.
We should all thank team @infiniteflight for being a positive beacon of hope during these times.

There are some things that the big wigs like MFS 2020, Xplane and other mobile apps with “better” graphics cant provide. What is that? The feeling of belonging. It is our human nature to have a desire to belong to something greater than ourselves. This infinite flight community provides that for many of us that had our lives rocked these last seven months or even for those of us that dont have family that cares about our love for aviation or those that dont have a family at all. Gratiude fights depression.

I bet when infinite flight was created years ago, its creators had no idea they would be a beacon of hope during a 2020 crisis…

It’s amazing to see how far this community has expanded. I, myself, have made so many new friends, its countless. I am happy at where I place in this community. I love to fly and partake in events. They are fun to fly with other people and not just by yourself.

8 years ago, when the idea of a flight simulator came to Philippe and Laura’s mind, I bet they had no idea they would have a large community, and so many pilots, even attending large events like FlightSimExpo and EAA. The simulator and community aspired me to continue further into earning my PPL which I can hopefully get in the next couple of years.

You pretty much took the words right out of my mouth. My personal life in the real world is full of lots of stress due to a living situation that I am trying to get out of and all the stress that builds up from that I don’t need or should have at an age that I am at plus with the added distance learning. The thing that has been helping me get though and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Infinite Flight has taught me that myself and many others on the community and around the world are going to come out of this better and stronger than before.

Its definitely helped me ALOT with getting through 2020. It’s crazy, it only feels like yesterday when I bought IF just for the reworked 787 and we only had regions instead Global.

Yessir. Thx for replying. Nothing you are going through is by accident. Your wisdom at your age is not by accident. And wisdom ALWAYS comes at a cost.

And yup, infinite is the bomb.
Thx for sharing your positivity, optimism and hope.

IF and the IFC has been amazing, especially during the times of COVID. In my time here, I’ve made so many friends and have learned so much in my time here. And during COVID, the IFC is a place where we can all get together and just have a good time.

It brings me joy to see people exited to fly with others. I for one, love it. Other flight sims may have nicer graphics, or buildings, but what they don’t have is a community full of amazing people flying together, and always willing to help others. What IF has is unbeatable, and I’m sure that in the future, IF and the IFC will continue to help us. It form one, has helped me so much, and I’m glad that others feel the same way I do.

Infinite flight is by far the most user friendly and fun app I’ve ever used. In most other apps, the developers are ghosts and customer service isn’t a thing. Here at Infinite Flight developers and staff are very active and answer questions, take suggestions, and comments, and chat and crack jokes. You just don’t see that in any other games. Some people say staff here don’t listen and are terrible but they are really special. Thank you infinite flight, I’ve spent 4000 amazing hours flying the virtual IF skies, here’s to many more years 🥂

Well, I stopped what I was doing to read this. You know what? It made me smile one of the biggest smiles I have in a while. We all look at each other as people, users of the app, but to me, I see you all as a sense of family. From all the friends I have met at the IFVARB, IFATC, IFAET, and IFGAC, through all the friend I have met at WZZVA, vALA, QVG, VLGVA, BAVA, DLVA, AAVA, UVAL, IPP, IFATCEG, LYVA, the Star Alliance Group, here on the IFC, and just randomly saw in the sky, I thank all of you. I just listed over a dozen families that I am a member of because of this app.

Notice I said families and not organizations? This app is more than 3-D rendered airplanes (the devs are probably thinking the same thing ;) This app fueled my love for aviation. It pushes me to do well in school to become a pilot, it makes me who I am. I didn’t spend 1,600 hours and counting just to fly an aircraft alone in the dark, I did it to be with the community because it is what I LOVE doing. I couldn’t imagine what I would have done without Infinite Flight these last few months. The people I have met, the thing I have been apart of makeup who I am and show the members of the likes that I strive to be.

The most important family to me that I left out was everyone at my VA, Air China Virtual. That is 58 faces that I wouldn’t know. 58 faces that changed my life forever. So many people I have met at CAVA that make me become the best version of myself, who support me through thick and thin, who have my back no matter what happens.

You, Lp9 said it best, you said “a young kid has hope because he is flying in an online event the next day… That is called IMPACT” That impact has hit me hard the last year, without Infinite Flight I don’t know what I would be doing, I have so many skills I have picked up from the sim that are non-flying related and I am very grateful of the mods, devs, regulars, community members, VA staff, IFATC supervisors, trainers, officers, specialists, and trainees, IFVARB members, and admins, IFAET staff, just everyone that dedicates so much as 1 IFC post to the community. You are all part of the impact! Stay safe everyone! <3

Hi.
Tomorrow, It’s my first event that I’ve ever participated, and I’m so excited to see and to feel how a simulador like IF gives you the opportunity to feel like in the sky, I live near to an international Airport (SKBO), and my whole life has been marked by those huge airplanes pass through the colombian sky, as much that today I’m studying Aeronautical Engineering, and… with IF, I’m learning a lot, I’m sorry if your face reading this is like “?”, my english is not good, and I’m trying to avoid to use Google Traductor, IF also gives me the possibility to improve it, so, It’s like a simulator to improve my knowledge of my career and an simulator to speak english with other people (When there’s IFATC), so, I agree with the other ones, this is not a simple app, It’s a simulator that motivate you to look forward and to encourage you to be an aviation lover, Thanks to the whole community :)

I understood everything you said loud and clear @Andres_Arevalo . Most of us were bitten by the aviation bug at a very young age and it does indeed have a lasting impact on us. Stay on the path to greatness my friend. ⭐️
