Hello everyone! It turns out we’ll have a bit of free time this Wednesday at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, so we thought we’d host an impromptu event for some of you in the area. We’d love to hang out with some of you to watch some aviation action if you’re free. We’ll be sure to bring a handful of keychains and stickers for those of you who are able to come!
When & where?
We plan to watch the traffic from the spotters shed which is the official spotting location provided located at the northern end of Runway 01R/19L. There is a small portion of shelter here just in case it begins to rain, which is very likely judging by the current forecast. Timing wise, we aim to be here on the 30th from 1100-1300 CEST. 2023-08-30T09:00:00Z→2023-08-30T11:00:00Z
Seeing as this is rather spontaneous, we do not have any contingency plans to fall back on. We’ll simply see how things turn out! We’d like to emphasise that this is a super casual gathering in comparison to our Official Meetups, hence the last minute announcement. In terms of facilities, there isn’t an awful lot around unless you take a stroll to one of the terminals. This shouldn’t be too much of an issue as the timeframe is only 2hrs.
Weather wise, the current forecast shows overcast conditions with some rain here and there, so be sure to bring a coat or an umbrella. Speaking of what to bring, make sure you don’t forget your camera. We look forward to potentially meeting some of you there! 📸
Exceptionally short notice on this one unfortunately, can’t imagine most people would be able to arrange something so soon, not including the increased cost of travel. Oh well.
Dan whats with all of these events so close to eachother whats going on can we not just calm it a bit😐 u guys are going lax in September can u guys not just focus on the update before these big events😭
Might just be an idea to give notice a little bit sooner. I get it’s impromptu, but Stockholm is hardly a short drive away for most people. Just feels like slightly poor planning, but alas, I hope you enjoy your spotting!
We branded this as “spotting” for that reason - definitely not meant to be on the scale of any of our other main meetups, but since Dan was in the area already, the idea was to just extend an invite if anybody local wanted to join :)
