Today, while conducting a patrol of Naples Municipal Airport (KAPF), an acquaintance from the sheriff’s office gave me a look at their Bell UH-1. A veteran of the Vietnam War, this “Huey” was built in 1969, and joins a fleet of two Bell OH-58s in the search and rescue, and surveillance roles. This iconic aircraft is 50 years old and still serving its community. The photos are mine.
Wow nice pictures
@RotorGuy, look. Something for you!
The last crew who will retire the Blackhawk helicopters will be an active Huey crew - Unknown
Huey 😍 Can’t get enough of them.
What impresses me again and again is the age of these machines. If you take a look at the fixed wing market, you will still find a few isolated 737-200s from the early 70s. But that is it.
And here’s a 50-year-old helicopter that looks like it was built yesterday.
