Is there any way to step climb while away from your device?
If you download the In-Flight Assistant app and go to the Alerts/NAV section, you can program your step climbs there. Thatâs how I do it.
I think itâs only available for iOS though (idk what device you use)
doesnât inflight assistance cost money though?
Yeah it does I think, and you need to pay extra for the alerts as well.
Yes. I checked. Itâs gonna be hard for me to get it because it does cost money.
Is there any other way
maybe right before you leave your device, set it to climb at 100 fpm
if I do that, wouldnât eventually go too high, and then stall and crash
$5 should be easy enough to get, even if it takes a while for you
If you donât want to spend the $5, you can set the altitude, climb slowly to it, and then just leave it. Some long flights donât step climb anyway
i meant set an altitude you want to climb to, then climb as slowly as you can to get there
Well for me convincing my parents may be a little harder. Lol.
Lol I feel you
Is there a way you could earn $5?
Donât just leave your flight at +100fpm lol. If you are cruising at FL300 and you have a 10 hour flight. After 10 hours you should be at FL900 which is impossible and you will just stall and get violations
Iâve had this issue before too. It isnât the money that is the problem, itâs the allowance from my parents. That was an issue a few years ago itâs finally good now đ
Did you read this
How does setting altitude for waypoints work?
In the In-Flight Assistant app, tap âmoreâ on the bottom of the screen. Then find the Alerts/NAV button where you can set altitudes and speeds for each waypoint
IFâs VNAV is great for descending but it doesnât work for climbing quite yet
