Step climb while away

Is there any way to step climb while away from your device?

If you download the In-Flight Assistant app and go to the Alerts/NAV section, you can program your step climbs there. That’s how I do it.

I think it’s only available for iOS though (idk what device you use)

doesn’t inflight assistance cost money though?

Yeah it does I think, and you need to pay extra for the alerts as well.

Yes. I checked. It’s gonna be hard for me to get it because it does cost money.

maybe right before you leave your device, set it to climb at 100 fpm

if I do that, wouldn’t eventually go too high, and then stall and crash

$5 should be easy enough to get, even if it takes a while for you

If you don’t want to spend the $5, you can set the altitude, climb slowly to it, and then just leave it. Some long flights don’t step climb anyway

i meant set an altitude you want to climb to, then climb as slowly as you can to get there

Well for me convincing my parents may be a little harder. Lol.

Lol I feel you

Is there a way you could earn $5?

Don’t just leave your flight at +100fpm lol. If you are cruising at FL300 and you have a 10 hour flight. After 10 hours you should be at FL900 which is impossible and you will just stall and get violations

I’ve had this issue before too. It isn’t the money that is the problem, it’s the allowance from my parents. That was an issue a few years ago it’s finally good now 😂

How does setting altitude for waypoints work?

In the In-Flight Assistant app, tap “more” on the bottom of the screen. Then find the Alerts/NAV button where you can set altitudes and speeds for each waypoint

IF’s VNAV is great for descending but it doesn’t work for climbing quite yet
