Hey all I just wanted to know if there is an app that supports auto step climb for iOS 26 as the current IF remote no longer works after the update as I can’t slide over the app anymore?

Hi @Ross_O_hAnluain … I’m part of the team behind IF Remote and while iOS 26 has eliminated slide over, you can still run IF Remote relay and Infinite Flight together on the same iPad with a slightly different approach using iOS 26’s new multi-window mode.
If you can raise a ticket in our Discord someone can help you there. If not, let me know and I’ll get some guidance to you here.
brilliant yeah if I could get some help here on the process on how to do it that would be great thank you
Sure. In simple terms you need to run iOS 26 in Windowed Apps mode by going to Settings > Multitasking & Gestures in iOS 26 and selecting Windowed Apps:
Once this is done you can open Infinite Flight in a window. If Infinite Flight opens full screen you can drag from the bottom right corner of the screen to turn it into a window slightly smaller than the full screen:
You can then open IF Remote in another window and switch which appears above or below the other:
Once you have the IF Remote relay running you can safely leave it behind the IF window as shown in the second image above. The key is not to make the IF window full screen. The minute you do, our experience shows that iOS 26 will treat IF Remote as a background app and eventually pause it or kill it, stopping the relay which is needed for all features of IF Remote including the step-climb feature. This is very similar to what earlier versions of iOS/iPad OS would do if you swiped the slide over off the screen.
I should add one other thought: if you typically are using IF Remote relay and IF on your iPad and then an iPhone as a remote but on the same Wifi/local network as the iPad with IF, then with the current version of IF Remote you can run the relay and remote control on the same iPhone and not need to run IF Remote on iPad at all. This works only if you don’t plan to take the phone off the network. You can see an example of this in action in the demo video on our main thread here.
I hope this helps – if not let me know.
