Status: RCTP open

I am preparing to apply for my IFATC ATC license.
I will be practicing Ground & Tower control at RCTP Taipei Taoyuan International Airport on the training server.
All pilots are welcome to come and practice with me, any guidance and feedback are highly appreciated!

Congrats! :tada::partying_face::tada:

Hi there,

Good to hear that and good luck in your applications! And also, to make things clearer and have more pilots participating, you might want to modify your thread into an ATC tracking thread like the template below. Wish to see you in IFATC soon!

Also, are you opening today?

I am currently training the RCTP of the suit to start control.
Although there isn’t a plane.

I’ll definitely join!

Why are you denying pattern works  @Miss.Linyutong

I’m sorry.

Hi @Miss.Linyutong, I despawned as it doesn’t seem like you have an understanding of what is necessary to manage pattern work so I think you need to focus on the manual before you put it into practice otherwise you may develop bad habits; but I’ll still leave some feedback.

Taxi route on ground was fine.

Line up and wait was unnecessary and only resulted in me sitting on the runway for 2 mins. You can immediately clear me for takeoff, there is no need to hold me for a parallel departure or landing (provided departure FPL do not conflict).

I asked for takeoff remaining in the pattern which should be followed by a clearance and traffic direction. You only cleared me for takeoff.

Once airborne I called inbounds for touch and goes and you replied with clearing me for hte option. Without a traffic direction on takeoff, I am required a Pattern Entry (in this instance it would have been “Enter Right Downwind Runway 05R.”

My advice would be to keep studying and practicing making sure that you’re following the IFATC manual.

I will find relevant videos to study.

And tell a joke, I just understood the route on the ground.

Hi there,

Thanks for your service at Taipei today. Just as tidex mentioned, I would also recommend you to have an adequate understanding of the ATC manual before doing actual practices. As for study materials, you can find more video resources in the IF’s official social media, for example this one:

Review the manual and come back with more knowledge :flexed_biceps:

Hey!
I was OK-IGR.
I highly advise you to start your training journey from reading the manual.
Overall— taxi and pushback clearances were good!
But I’ve noticed the following issues:

  1. When I was holding short the 05L runway, I was told to ‘Turn left and contact ground’. I really can’t understand the reasoning behind it…
  2. When I re-requested, I got Line Up And Wait with ‘Exit runway when able’. Which I, frankly, don’t understand either.
  3. After I requested a departure (after I taxied back to the Hold Short line), I was told to ‘Hold Position’ instead of ‘Hold Short Runway 05L’.
  4. My departure clearance didn’t include the traffic direction, moreover, my pattern work request was denied by applying 3000’ straight-out clearance.

You might find useful:

ATC Manual | 3.2 Departures For the clarification on ‘Holding Short’ instructions.

ATC Manual | 3.5 Exit Runway / Go-Around (As I saw 360 instruction for a pilot on a short final).

Hello! I love to see another person interested in IFATC.

I would like to add to what @tidex, @igor, and @Yuyuiuy said

Besides reading the manual and watching the video @Yuyuiuy linked, I’d also recommend you consider joining the ATC mentorship hub (if you haven’t already). There able to help through the recruitment process with practice tests and mentorship sessions. I personally didn’t go through them but I’ve seen other controllers go through them.

Happy controlling!

I tried to apply yesterday, and then there were less than 500 control instructions, so I didn’t let the application.

The third one is because a plane landed, and I accidentally gave it to you and put you on the runway.
I’m not sure if there is any conflict between his landing time and your departure time, that is, whether it is easy for planes to collide.

Then there’s the short stop,I’m not sure which one to go back to.

Where do I apply for IFATC license?

I have to wait 1 week to apply because of the Level 3 violation in my FIRST EVER expert flight :c
