Where do you spot?
Well, on certain days I can just spot from my porch, the planes fly directly over me during the Canarsie approach when they’re using the 13s, and they come pretty close to me when they’re using the 31s. But, for the 22s I have some spots I go to. One directly behind 22L, used for landings, and one next to the lineup for 22R, next to the departures (and some landings). Everything is so quiet after hearing the a380

I am on the southern departure line from JFK. So I get usually 737, a320-21s and the occasional 767 and if lucky 747 at 12,000 over my house as they head to the west and south.
Like you mean, coming off the lendy 8, the hook looking maneuver?
