I am practicing my ATC and would like to see what you think and give me some advice thanks.

Hi! I was with the callsign N739EC. Below are listed a few of my observations:

  • Ground commands were good.

  • Runway changes are approved by pattern entries. Therefore, when I requested change to 25R, the appropriate command would have been “Enter right downwind runway 25R”

  • When doing Patterns, the appropriate clearance would be “cleared for the option”, which would give the aircraft clearance to either land, touch&go, stop&go or even a fly past.

  • The runway exit command was missing.

Alright, that was pretty bad actually:

  1. While I was taxiing I had a Cessna Citation crossing in front of me and I had to stop to not crash into it, you need to say ‘‘give way to aircraft on your left’’ or ‘‘hold position’’

  2. You told me ‘‘line up and wait’’ and I waited for 1 minute on the runway until you told me ‘‘clear for takeoff’’ while there was any traffic in front of me or on the surroundings.

  3. You told me to ‘‘make right traffic’’ while I was departing from rwy 25L, you should tell me to ‘‘make left traffic’’ and so I won´t cross with the inbound or outbound traffic of rwy 25C and 25R.

  4. You can´t say ‘‘Roger’’ to all I tell you. While I´m in a pattern I need to report position to tower until he gives me clearance for the option. You didn´t clear me so I reported all positions and when lees than one mile had to go around as I had no clearance.

  5. You did this (4) 2 times that´s why I left. Nobody can fly in the pattern with you being tower if you don´t clear them.
