Spotting With a Nikon? @KSTS

Welcome

Today I tried cross-platform plane spotting with my school’s Nikon D750 which i use for yearbook

don’t tell them I took it planespotting

Details
Camera: Nikon D750
Lens: AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm

I mean they turned out ok I guess

Starting it off with a CL60 taking off to Van Nuys

Now, a private jet and a PC-12 taking off to various locations. They are cropped weirdly because no hav good zoom

this is when I realized I probably should have used my canon :p

American E175 taking off after a 45 minute delay :0

This one is interesting. This PC-12-45NGX or smth like that took off directly overhead at a very low altitude likely due to wake turbulence as it took off immediately after the E175 did

hope you enjoyed 👌

I’ve always liked Nikon for photos as I find they’re better than Canon and also great catches!

Yeah, Nikon does seem to have the better picture quality for stuff like portraits and whatnot.

Thanks! :)

To be fair, you’re comparing a full frame semi-pro Nikon with the basest Canon

Don’t worry, I told the principal to go easy on you

Hahaha depends on if he likes the photos!

Very cool images and angles, but out of curiosity have you edited these? There are a few images that look heavily overprocessed, as if the clarity slider has been bumped to the max. The CL60, 2nd ERJ and 3rd TBM all have intense haloing.

Otherwise, great images

Yeah, I edited these. I knew they already wouldn’t be of great quality, so I just decided to edit them to where I liked em :)

Yeah, the American looked edited

That’s completely fair, keep it up 💪

You can’t really go wrong with a camera from any big manufacturer

Are there any cameras from these types of manufacturers that are notably bad?

Yes, specifically this setup: Sony α7iii + Sony 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS & Manfrotto Element Tripod

Nah, it’s the A7IV that’s the bad camera (please we need to get the prices down so I can buy one)
