This might be a little strange, but I came across these pictures I took when I still lived in Juneau and thought I would share. I took these pictures almost five years ago now. There’s no way that I’m going to remember where these planes were coming from or going to, but that’s alright. Juneau is a great place for taking pictures of planes and scenery, and what’s better than combining both?
A 72 year old Ward Air Turbo Otter taking off (I assume) from Juneau’s waterlane.
Another one of Ward Air’s seaplanes on it way out of Juneau.
22 year old Alaska Airlines 737-700 N644AS landing on runway 08.
The same aircraft with a beautiful backdrop.
58 year old N69359 Turbo Beaver belonging to Ward Air inbound (presumably) for landing.
An Alaska Airlines 737-700 dwarfed by the mountains behind it.
The same aircraft, this time with the sky as its backdrop.
If I haven’t convinced you that Juneau is an extremely underrated spotting location, I don’t know what will. I hope you enjoyed these five year old photos!
