Spotting From The Control Tower : Edition 7

Welcome to another addition of spotting from the control tower! The Controller’s, Trainers, Recruiters and Supervisors and Upper Managment team is what makes the IFATC team so unique, special and one of the most rewarding opportunity’s to embark on. You will get to hear from the new recruiters who are taking their next chapter in the IFATC team. They will be making sure that you get your chance of success in making sure you ace your exam’s and that you know all of the ins and outs if your in that process.

Meet @Will_A : The story shows just shows how the support of others is so meaningful.

When I joined IFATC with help from BluePanda900 and Luke_M I was shocked by the immediate friendliness from the members. It was like one big family and I was so proud to be part of the team. After a few months as a specialist I was given the opportunity to become an officer. With JoshFly8 as my recruiter and Chris_Hoover as my fantastic trainer, I was able to pass my radar practical!

About 3 months into my time as an officer, I was fortunate enough to be selected as an IFATC trainer. Training was one of my goals in IFATC as I loved watching trainees learn and grow enough to join IFATC or become an officer! The journey continued few months later with a promotion to supervisor. And now we’re here, the next stage of my journey. I’m so proud to have joined the IFATC recruiting team and honestly am still in disbelief. Being able to greet the future of IFATC is a huge privilege that I am excited to take on!

Meet @Darius_Glover - Determination get's you noticed!

I joined IFATC in October of 2018, one of the best decisions I’ve made. It was a long journey & with the help of my recruiter Gary, it all paid off. Not too long after, I was promoted to ATC specialist. During that time, I also was observing how radar controllers operate & began to write down tips so when I wanted to start the process I would have some knowledge. Along with watching Tyler’s YouTube videos about radar functions.

With the help of Adam Callow (my radar trainer), I successfully passed my written & practical exam. Couldn’t have done it without his dedication with me during the training process. A few months after, I was approached by Josh to join the IFATC Training Team. Was very grateful to have the opportunity to help people join IFATC. Soon after, I was approached by Tyler to join the recruitment team. I can’t thank enough all the people who have helped me get into IFATC & help me grow within the group. Special thanks to Josh, Tyler, Gary & everyone who I’ve watched that has helped me become a better controller. Everyday it’s a learning experience for me & I’m extremely grateful for the roles I have within the team!

Meet @RTG113 - His Journey From Beginning to Now.

When I first joined IFATC in November of 2017, I had no clue where I would be today. I was so happy to finally be able to control on the Expert Server. But, IFATC is so much more than that. It’s about the friendships you develop, some of these people I talk with more than I talk with my IRL friends. It’s about learning about other worldwide cultures. Other perspectives of life, I’ve learned so much with this group.

When I was presented with the opportunity to become a trainer in August of 2018, I was extremely happy. Happy that I am able to give back to the community. Now, like many I’ve made some mistakes in my IFATC career and did some things I’m still to this day not proud of. I’m happy to have overcome those hurdles and the mental challenges that come with them. We’re all human, we make mistakes, just as long as you realize where you went wrong and make a commitment to not do it again is what matters.

In April of 2019, I left IFATC, Infinite Flight, and the IFC for some time. I thought I was done with aviation and Infinite Flight, but boy was I wrong. I missed this group and Infinite Flight so much, and in August of 2019 after spending a few days debating, I decided to come back. I re-gained my Trainer status in November of 2019. In May of this year, I was added to the ATC Supervisors team. Something that I am extremely humbled and honoured to be in. Adding on to this, my Recruiter addition. Again, I’m extremely humbled and honoured to be a part of this team. I’m really looking forward to recruiting the future of IFATC!

My door is always open should you have any questions about joining IFATC, Training, or anything in general.
