I’m on my way to do spot at SJD in Mexico, I haven’t seen any topics of plane spotting here before…just making sure anyone with info can tell me something.

I was there a few years ago. Nice place. They didn’t like me taking pictures of the plane when we existed via the air stairs. I’m sure they won’t have problems with you taking shots outside the airport.

There’re some videos of spotting at Los Cabos, but none from the outside of the airport.

Stay on the highway north, go past the airport and there is a small parking lot here : Google Maps
Go there and you can get all the arrivals and takeoffs :)
I spotted there last in 2019 so the parking lot should still be there, just look out on the sides of the road. It’s more of a huge turnout but there are 1-3 actual parking spots.

It’s right around there, on the right hand side of the road if your coming from Cabo de San Lucas.
Its not an exact spot because it’s not an official parking lot. As I said it’s more of a turn out but there are some designated spaces. If you are unable to find it as you drive by I would just pull into a turn out tbh.

No, when you click my link you should be able to see the gray point I marked. Zoom out and compare it to your current location.
Okay so assuming your driving towards the airport on Highway 1 you should go past the airport and merge onto highway 10 and that will take you behind the airport near runway 16. You will be outside the airport in a dirt parking lot
Click view larger map and then see the highway 10 right behind the aiport?
