Spotting at LHR

So, I got home from London a week ago but I pushed this topic off. These photos were taken from the Renaissance Hotel. Beware, these were taken through glass so they aren’t great, but they’re good.

So let’s get started, and beware, it’s a lot!

That Emirates 747F takeoff looks kinda steep…good pictures though.

Yep, no need to worry about passenger comfort!

Never knew we put humans in containers and ship them :)

Never the less, love the shot of the Korean Air 777

I meant there are no passengers

Photography tip- turn down the shutter speed on your camera for a crisper, less blurry shot (make up for the loss of light by changing the aperture/knocking up the ISO if you need to).

If you usually use AUTO mode, then try changing to Shutter speed (Tv) mode. This let’s you change the shutter speed but the camera sorts the other settings for you, if you don’t feel ready to use full manual.

Hmmm. I used auto. Thanks for the tips, I will try it out!

I have a SX530, a fairly similar camera to your’s (yours is still a bit better) and I have found the AUTO photos to pretty much always get shots wrong. I only ever use it when trying to capture something fast (eg birds).

Shots are framed really well, just work on that :)

Love those South African! And the Ethiopian A350 brings back memories with Ethiopian although looks of the plane make up for it. 😂

Nice, I truly do love the entire variety of various aircraft within your collection as a whole!

Nice photos! I’ve never seen a KLM 737-700 wearing the new livery before and that Emirates SkyCargo 747 steep climb though!

I also saw an AF 787 when I was at LHR, quite unusual to see them doing such small flights, although I believe they are for crew training purposes.
Great pics tho!

Great photos! I work at Heathrow and pass the northern perimeter everyday. If your in the right place at the right time, the planes roar overhead as they fly over the threshold. I’ve always wandered how everything looks like from the renaissance hotel, so thanks for that! @Pilotmaster2129

I finally was allowed to go up the Control Tower at heathrow a few days ago. Unfortunately I was amazed at the views that I didn’t get to take as many photos as I would’ve liked to but here they are 😊

These are a few snaps from the apron

I’ve also been up the tower
