Spotting at LaGuardia Airport!

Hey. I’m attending Vaughn College for Aeronautics and Technology this Fall. I’m doing the summer program right now, so I’m dorming every day except Saturday and Sunday. Being next to LaGuardia airport, I have a privilege when they use Runway 4 for landings. I mean, the College is right across the highway, so it’s pretty easy to get some great shots out of this. (If only I had a professional camera.)

Without further ado, here are the shots I’ve taken today.

WestJet 737-700 over the highway

American A321-200

The line of aircraft waiting to takeoff on Runway 13.

American E170 shortly before touchdown.

Delta E170

Spirit Airlines A320 in it’s colorful livery. 😍

OneWorld American 737-800

JetBlue A320. First one I’ve seen all day.

Spirit A321 (Banana Bus) shortly before takeoff on Runway 4

Virgin America A319 over the highway!

Delta CRJ 900ER

How’s this for a catch?? Air Canada 767 landing on Runway 4 at LGA! Did you know these operate here?

Spirit A321 in it’s old livery! 🖤

United 739 with splits!

Delta CR7

United A319 shortly before landing, while two Embraer brothers hold short for takeoff.

And lastly, the new Air Canada livery on the E175!

Hope you guys enjoyed. Runway 4 is the least used Runway at LGA in the summer, so it’s amazing that they’ve been landing here all day. I’ve got four more weeks to go in this summer program, so I’ll be at LGA for a while. :)

Amazing pics! The 767 is the very largest operated there, and only on occasion

Great pictures! I especially like the American “One World” 737.

It’s incredible how close the planes are to that highway. Seems kind of dangerous…

Yeah, I’ve personally driven on the highway with my uncle. An A319 flew directly over us at like 100 feet, and we simultaneously said “Oh sh**!” 😂

Great shots Donny! I can only imagine what some of the pictures would look like on a clear day with a lot more traffic!

@Insertusernamehere actually, American operates their 787-800 into LGA during the “on-season” (summer months) to and from Chicago O’hare (KORD).

You learn something everyday :) tho the 788 is pretty much exactly the same size as the 763

No, I can tell you for a fact that doesn’t happen.
It’s a FR24 glitch, it’s actually a 738 but the same flight number is a 787 from Asia to ORD

Oh trust me, when I get a professional camera, I’ll do a lot more spotting, even at JFK.

Love the Air Canada 767! Great shots. Today has been pretty stormy here, unusually cold and gloomy and since the winds are typically out of the northeast with these systems runway 4 is in operation.
I wish I lived closer so I could go to Planeview Park (a public park right under the final approach to 04 where the planes fly right over your head) to watch!

@FlyFi, I live in NY as well, and I love driving on Grand Central turnpike and watching the planes land/takeoff.

Every time I see the retro Spirit livery, I wonder why they had to change to that ghastly yellow.
