So there I was, casually cruising at 38,000 feet in my F/A-18 Hornet—because why not—when I spotted my own Air India A350-900 gracefully slicing through the sky enroute to VABB (Mumbai) from RJTT (Tokyo). Obviously, I had no choice but to flip into escort mode. I mean, who wouldn’t want to see how a widebody beast compares to a fighter jet in real time? (Spoiler: it’s elegant, but let’s just say… not built for speed.)
Ended up escorting the flight for a while—felt like something straight out of a movie. Meanwhile, the autopilot was handling my actual flight plan like a champ (shoutout to modern aviation magic).
Huge thanks to the absolute legends behind Infinite Flight—for creating a world where this kind of sky drama is totally possible, and slightly addictive. I came to fly commercial… ended up in Top Gun.
