When you press the Gear on the spitfire the cockpit door open
No it should close when you put then up and open when down

It’s stuffy in there. On stressful landings the pilot might want a bit of fresh air.

@Freddiefrogs… Actually Fred the Open Canopy was practical. In the pre-Ejection Seat period Canopies had a tendency to get stuck closed if you rolled her up. An open Canopy on approach was a standard practice back in the day. Max
