Spirit Airlines Offering $31.30 Flights to Numerous Cities in Honor of Michigan’s 313 Day

The title says it all! Michigan made budget airline, Spirit Airlines is offering one way flights today only in celebration of 313 Day here in the Motor City.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Spirit Airlines will be offering flights to the following cities as part of this promotion:

Atlanta (ATL)
Fort Lauderdale (FLL)
Fort Myers (RSW)
Miami (MIA)
New York-LaGuardia (LGA)
Newark (EWR)
Philadelphia (PHL)

“We’ve been soaring in Detroit for more than three decades, and we’re thrilled to share this amazing deal in celebration of the community where we got our start,” said Lania Rittenhouse, Vice President of Guest Experience, Brand & Communications for Spirit Airlines, in the release. “Our nonstop service to and from DTW provides an affordable option for Detroiters to explore new destinations and connect with friends and family around the country.”

What exactly is 313 Day?

According to Wiki, 313 is the Area Code for Michigan. Though I guess that isn’t the case for the offer from Spirit.

Interesting. I’ve never heard of such a day based off area codes. Must be a regional thing, since there’s not anything of that nature here on 6/12.
