Speeds on decent

ive been using this on my decents with the b777:

30nm—220kt

20nm—210kt

15nm—200kt

10nm—180kt

6nm—160kt

5nm—145kt

2nm–landing speed

but its twice now that atc is slowing me down to not pass traffic so im just wondering if these speeds are too fast and what should my speeds me on approach?

Most likely the only reason why they are telling you to slow down is for seperation

I do my speeds based on altitude

Greater than FL280 - cruise speed

FL280 -270-280

FL250 - 260

FL200 - 250

FL150 - 240

FL100 - 230

FL080 - 215

FL060 - 200

<FL030 - 180 - final speed

I will usually slow down gradually as I’m on final. Hope this helps

No, that sounds all fine. It can just be the case that due to traffic constraints or similar things certain speeds are required, which is the Sam IRL at times too.

I believe that it also depends a lot on the climatic conditions.

Winds are a big factor if that’s what you mean, that’s correct.
