Can someone please explain why when im under 10000 ft after takeoff, im at half throttle under 260 kts but nothing works and i keep getting violated?
Chances are you weren’t able to slow down in time to below 260kts so the system gave you a violation. And depending on the aircraft, there is a chance the half throttle is still increasing the aircraft’s speed
Hi, are you saying that you’re receiving violations below 260 knots, or that you’re at half throttle but still exceeding 260 knots? The first is a game error, the second is a user error.
Yeah, when you are near a speed limit you need to keep a close eye one what power or any descent rate, accidental or not, are doing to your change in speed.
Best to keep some safety margin if any doubt about your ability to maintain a particular speed. A sudden wind change, for example, can push you past the limit, or going through different altitudes with the same VS setting, even though it looked stable when you started.
Hi there!
Under 10000 feet you should not be exceeding 250 knots. The extra 10 knots to 260 is intended as a buffer to prevent excessive violations.
The throttle you should be using depends on a lot of factors like climb rate, aircraft weight, and atmospheric conditions. I recommend setting the autopilot to 250 knots to avoid overspeeding.
Hope this helps!
This helps!
And being aware that is no guarantee against overspeeding in a descent, because once you are at idle power, autothrottle no longer limits your speed - you need to manually either slow your descent and/or add more drag (spoilers, flaps, gear).
