Hi! I’m pretty new here, but I can’t seem to find a way to Spawn or reposition aircraft to any position I want. For example 20NM finals on KJFK 13L or an initial approach fix. My goal is to practice a certain approach without needing to take off etc…
Spawn into the airport in solo, then open the menu and i believe there’s one for landing, called short final, click it and you will be on short final.
Sorry but this isn’t in the game, you can take off and set it up but when you want to repeat al,ethimf, just press ‘go back 20 seconds’ on the pause screen
Welcome to the community! I suggest taking a look at the following posts to get yourself situated. New members are always welcome. :)
Now, to your question. Unfortunately, there’s no way to choose an exact position to start your flight. You can choose an option to begin on short final (for solo), or enter the flight and then rewind 20 seconds like @Cpt_Zorndy stated. If these two options aren’t your thing, you’ll have to stick to normal pattern work.
Hope this helps! Please feel free to ask questions if you have any. See you around!
Yeah this should be a feature added
Thank you! I was going crazy trying to find this option. I agree that this would be a great feature at least for solo flights. It would be nice to practice certain approaches from an initial fix. Hope this can be added in a future update.
You can make an Feature request if you want !
@zmap Welcome! Also, in addition to the Short Final button, when you spawn in on the map, you can select to spawn on final for any runway. You will spawn 6 or 7 nautical miles away. Here is a pic of where the spawn point is:
Here, you can see the actual runway with a button. If you spawn there, you will be on the runway, ready to take off. If you look farther out, you will see runway numbers, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Click those to spawn on final. You will notice that in the bottom right portion of the screen, it says “Final Approach Runway 31L”.
Here’s a picture of what happens when you spawn on final.
You will spawn with gear down, full flaps, and spoilers armed: the perfect setup for a very awesome landing!
Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any more questions :)
