That bottle has a birth defect or something lol

Either that or it’s an Olympic swimmer

I miss when SW would just give you a can of water during Covid. That’s the only thing I miss about Covid.

That too, but I wasn’t sure it was an entirely appropriate joke. In any instance, it’s the first time I’ve seen a water bottle like that.

you can ask for a can

they usually will give it to you

I’d say that was a good thing. 1-2% of people in the US have a peanut allergy, which means on a flight of 150 people, at least one of two people are going to have an allergy. It can take only trace amounts of peanut to get a very severe, potentially life threatening reaction.

To my knowledge, it was nary an issue for over 40 years though. Although this also reminds me of Ricky Gervais’ bit on eating peanuts on a plane. If you don’t know I recommend you look it up. 🤣

To a certain extent, you’re right. Peanut allergies are on the rise pretty drastically (20% increase in 10 years between 2010-2020).

Because we as a species are getting weaker because of our over-reliance on fancy technology. (Though that’s by no means the only reason) That and the people with peanut allergies keep breeding.

Not really… we don’t really have a lot of research into the matter, but the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases says that our increasingly clean food system is partly to blame. There’s less cross contamination, which is definitely a good thing.

According to the same source, only 20% of peanut allergies can be linked to genetics.

It may also be entirely due to the genetics.

A couple may have 4 children which if the children have children of their own (which the average is 2) would mean 4-8 people that have peanut allergies. Take that an times a million considering the US population where it’s common.

Pretzels are becoming more common on flights than peanuts I see now so that is our #1 peanut replacement for the airline industry

That and cheese crackers.

Pretzels taste better anyway 😁

Respectfully disagree. I love me some peanuts

They both taste good…… provided the pretzels are seasoned.

Seasoned pretzels are good, I just prefer salted peanuts
