I was wondering if anyone here knew anything about why Southwest Airlines has been at Miami airport so much recently. I flew out of there last weekend and saw there Triple Crown One livery there and they have not been diversions. I can’t seem to find any sources on the subject so I wondered if any of you knew
Could be a charter.
Many times recently? Or just the one time you flew there? What day specifically was this?
Because it’s one of their destinations :)))
No. They fly to Fort Lauderdale FLL
I’ve saw a special livery while there but I’ve seen a couple on Flightradar24
Whoa, really? I never knew that… I just assumed they did because it’s a major airport.
They fly to FLL about 15 miles north
JetBlue and Southwest almost exclusively operate out of FLL, but some airlines like AA and Delta actually serve both, they are different city’s after all, but very close…
Maintenance, maybe?
Yes, but Southwest and JetBlue never fly to Fort Lauderdale
My dad works for WN. I’ll ask him.
I would asume they would have maintenance reasources know FLL being a big hub of sorts for them…
That’s so cool! Please let us know what he says
Miami? I’ve flown both of them into FLL… 😂😜
But it didn’t go to a gate, it sat over in the holding/maintenance area for a whole
JetBlue has a hub in FLL.
Sorry, that’s what I meant!
