Something that I wanted to share.

When your taxing to a runway/parking and the ATC told you to hold postion and there was an aircraft facing you to go straight then right or left, turn off you taxi lights, which in this case your landing lights.you would ask why ? To be polite to the pilot.

He means that you should turn off your landing lights when facing another aircraft on the taxiway

Yes, but I’m sure that isn’t done in real life anyway (you would never face another aircraft normally). In my opinion I would just keep the strobes off after exiting the runway.

I wonder what should one do when you’re facing another aircraft on the taxiway, and there’s nowhere to go. Has this happened in real life? Does a pushback vehicle assist you or something? It’s happened to me in the game, and I’m usually forced to taxi through the parking spots. :/

Lets say theres an aircraft infront of you and hes going to take the next right, turn off the lights until he isnt facing you anymore.

usually this should never happen on advanced or irl atc should send traffic correctly so this doesn’t happen

ok i get it but im wondering is turning off your lights like a signal to the pilot your giving him the right away?

I wouldnt say not to blind him but to be polite.

Its the ATC decision whos going first, depending on the situation.

No,its not telling him turn right or left, just to be polite.

useful when atc there to give the command give way to aircraft ahead

Well you shouldn’t have your landing lights on during taxi anyway …

I know, but since we dont have taxi lights we use landing lights.
