So I have noticed a few things that have changed during the last update that seem to be so unnecessary and only make things harder and more frustrating.
The first is the way the screen jumps around and zooms in or out each time you click on a procedure.
This makes planning a lot more frustrating and helps nothing in my opinion. Sometimes I need to zoom in or out to choose the right fixes, or make sure the approach I choose is the one right on the centreline of the approach lines. The constant zoom ins and outs and the screen moving around everywhere while trying to do this is very annoying.
The second issue I’ve just recently noticed is that your map preferences turn off when you choose a procedure.
For example I have taxiways and approaches always on, the rest I only toggle when I need them. Choosing an arrival or approach and then they disappear. For the same reason stated above (choosing the right approach that lines up with the approach lines) this makes it hard as I need to toggle approach or fixes every time I pick a new procedure.
I don’t really know why these things were added but they don’t really help the game at all and only make it inconvenient.
Hey, I get what you mean. Most of us feel like this, but it was intentional for a reason.
What I can think of is that the auto-zoom was added for spotting the procedures easily. Think about it, if we get patient and let the zoom do its job, it gets us right to the SID/ STAR / approach we want. It does, however, interrupt more experienced players compared to fairly new pilots. It slows things down.
The second issue - I think the idea was efficiency and decluttering. Realism gets a hurt on this one, indeed, and it does cause frustration.
I do agree for more experienced pilots, as I said, it might be seen as disturbing. Your point is valid. We won’t know if they’re getting changed, deleted or improved yet.
I guess I’ll just add here but I’m not sure if Open Beta would be more appropriate—I just didn’t want to necessarily make a new topic. I guess I could have made a feature request to add a button such as, “Move to top/start/[etc.],” and, “Move to bottom/end/[etc.],” would be the equivalent of the previous arrow that is unfortunately no longer being used.
