For those in the LA area. Praying for you guys. Please get out if you can. Arson is starting some of these, like the one in Hollywood. Those in North LA, good luck. What a crazy start to 2025.

Thank you! I’m about five miles north of the Sunset Fire, and things are getting pretty crazy. Almost the entire Pacific Palisades is gone, and Altadena looks like a war zone. Hopefully, the LA City and LA County Air Operations teams can keep up their great work, and everyone stays safe.
The local fire departments are spread far too thin to battle six fires at once. While both local fire department air operations teams are focusing on the Sunset Fire, CAL Fire and Orange County Fire are handling the Palisades. Unfortunately, it’s the perfect storm, and there’s only so much a dozen or so helicopters can do. Once the sun comes up, I’m sure we’ll see fixed-wing aircraft back on scene.

I live a solid distance away from where the fires are currently but it has been incredibly smoky all along the coast nonetheless. Hoping that all of the fires will be contained soon and I keep the firefighters in my thoughts and prayers.

- The water supply has been strained and a boil water notice has been issued to certain areas.
- I wouldn’t doubt that these fires are man made
