I thought that it would be pretty sick if there was some more wintery weather implemented into this flight sim. There could be snow all around the taxiways, and there could also be ice on the runways, maybe forcing you to use reverse thrust on landings in case you already don’t.
Going on this, if you think that this is a good idea, check out another feature idea that a friend of mine made:
Please give this a vote if you want to see this soon! I personally would, seeing as Christmas and winter is right around the corner. Happy holidays to all!
Thank you so much for your vote! One reason I particularly want to see this feature is because winter is almost here and it would be cool to have some flights in the snow.
Ice gets pretty complicated in the aviation world, I suspect at a minimum a lot of pretty core changes would be needed if you want it to actually impact your flight.
This would be amazing, especially in places like Aspen just to see all the scenery covered with snow as you’re taking off in your beautiful private jet
@Claudio yes it is but the types of precipitation talked about in that category is more like rain, thunderstorms, tornadoes, and hurricanes, many of which aren’t actually precipitation
Yes, I’d like to see this feature added in Infinite Flight, snow and ice can make a more complicated flight conditions, e.g. ice on wings can make the plane stall.
If IF is adding this feature I will recommend also include:
Give every aircraft wipers and de-icing instruments
Add de-icing vehicles(only can be used at the de-ice pad)
Add snow/ice broadcast message in ATC
And Infinite Flight should add some realistic characteristics on snow and ice, e.g. if you stay not moving for a while, the snow/ice on your aircraft will increase, and there won’t be snow around the engine nozzle unless you turned it off.
