Over Christmas, I received a camera. It is a Nikon D5200 70-300 mm lens. So, this week I took my monthly trip down to SoCal for flight school, and while I had some free time, I decided to do some planespotting. John Wayne Airport, better known as KSNA, does not get a load of traffic, I would say they get about 3 or 4 takeoffs and about 2 or 3 landings an hour.

I’ll give you some constructive criticism only because you asked for it. And before I go into that, I will tell you I began taking pictures as a young 16 year old at SNA back in 1988 so your photos brought back some memories and kind of look like what I took with my old Kodak 110 film camera. So as a start, you’re on the right path. Just keep working on improving and eventually you’ll like your pictures a lot more. If you are just plane spotting, these would be fine for your collection. But if you are trying to sell yourself as a photographer, that’s where your pics won’t cut it. If you want any more feedback or ideas in how to make your photos better, let me know. I’m always happy to help. Keep it up!

If you’re ever at Saint Maarten in the Caribbean, make sure you go Princess Juliana Airport, I absolutely loved seeing a 747 50 off the beach!

Hey! those pictures are really good! A few things to change…

  • It looks like you have too much exposure on some of those pictures.
  • When editing the photos, adjust the angle of the picture, so that the ground is horizontal with the top / bottom of the photo.

That’s all I can think of, Nevertheless those photo’s are pretty good!
