Did a flight on my Twitch/YouTube stream and had my smoothest landing thus far!
Expert server, evening Southwest Virtual Airlines flight from KLAX to KSFO, approach via RNAV (GPS) RWY 28L. Set up on the approach, then decided to hand fly it in rather than land with instruments.
Such a good landing! But if you hadnāt lowered the nose a little bit before touchdown, it wouldāve been not only a greasy landing, but true buttery.
Thanks for the advice. I notice in the past I tend to flare too high or too early, so Iāve been working on gradually raising the nose at just the right moment. I think in this case I actually scrubbed a teeny bit too much speed before touching down so it brought the nose down.
These lightweight 737s can be tough because they like to float, but I think Iām getting there. Iāll keep practicing!
Iāve had some good landings lately, one of them in that same plane/livery combination. I donāt know if this happens to anyone else but even on good landings the tires go through the runway a bit, making it look like a bad landing.
Hereās a good landing I made (butter? Kinda. Butter song? Yes!)
Thanks, yāall. Still working on more smooth landings. Flew the A330-300 first time ever tonight had a warm, buttered, toasty landing (considering it was my first landing)! Hereās the clip link: Twitch
