Smarter Ground Control: Boosting Efficiency with Pushback and Taxi Routing

Thanks for making this! Been using it already. Only problem is no one seems to understand or care to follow the pull forwards…

Unfortunately, some people will need to be reported before they realize it’s not optional

Yeah… I’ve been pretty lenient since I’ve only had to use them for pure realism purposes but I can see it becoming a bigger issue.

Is it still likely that pull forward operations are used in alleys without a start line? Ex. terminal 1 at KLAX.

Interesting guide. Thx for sharing, I’ve a question: pushback followed by a drag to the line where the plane is able to continue on its ownn, do I need to issue a request for taxiing while attached to the tug?

Nope. The tug will automatically pull you to the spot. It’s still part of the pushback phase

So if a conflict occurs, it should be solved by ground, right?

If the controller issued the push/pull instruction correctly, there shouldn’t be any conflicts

That’s right, but how does he knows, that I added a drag right after the pb. I mean he can see the tug, but in map mode, it’s not visible.

The line will show in the pilot end as well

Is there any plan to disable manual pushback if drag and pushback has been created by a controller?

Controllers can still give a generic pushback instruction where the pilot can self generate a route. Controllers can also only indicate a direction as well which the pilot will need to follow in their generation

Sorry, I meant pilots - I sometimes find they do their own thing!

That’s when I tend to warn/report them. They need to learn somehow
