Had a thought… I just had a hard A320 landing in Bali last week.

As a champion plane crasher in IF my respect goes for that real life pilot thumping his plane down for our safety, plane was fighting hefty crosswind on a wet night time approach, engine revs up instead of the usual quiet final glide, wing was see-sawing all the way down as he battles for centre line.

It reminded me of a certain IRL cockpit video where the captain instructed FO as pilot flying, to thump the gears down on runway during tropical storm and prevent it from skidding. It also reminded me of Ryan Air, somehow.
I mean, how do you know how to hit hard, yet safe enough?

So my thoughts are when (or if) this Weather Based, Runway Friction Value gets implemented we’d be thinking twice about the way we currently treat our landings in IF.

Rethink about our greasing/ buttering prides, dissing certain airline’s hard landing techniques, etc…
It’d be a big addition to IF’s educational and game value, at least one misdirected norms I’ve built myself into (excluding my get-there-itis and bad communication habits) could get reversed as we’d be forming serious attention to weather at destination… good instincts form from good habits! :)

It would be cool to see some snow…
