Skywest Australia A320

Hello IFC! Today I am requesting this aussie beauty, the Skywest A320!

Airline Info
Skywest, now Virgin Australia Regional was founded in 1963 as Carnarvon Air Taxi, based out of the northern WA town Carnarvon (hence the name) operating small GA aircraft. In 1979 the airline moved their base to Perths Jandakot airport and renamed to Skywest Holdings.

One year later in 1980, Skywest Airlines was formally established with the ICAO code OZW, moved their ops to Perths main airport, Perth Intl Airport and acquired Stilwell Airlines.

In 1983, Skywest was bought by TNT/News limited and became a subsidiary of Ansett Australia.

In 1998 Ansett Australia gave Skywest a fleet of F50 aircraft. Skywest operated under the Ansett banner until 2002, when Ansett went bankrupt.

2 years later in 2004, Skywest was purchased by Singapore-based company CaptiveVision Capital as a result of a hostile takeover.

In 2011, Skywest received its first Airbus A320, and in May 2011 they announced they had optioned a second one.

In 2013, Skywest was wholly absorbed by Virgin Australia. As a result Skywest ceased to exist and was rebranded as Virgin Australia Regional. Some planes are stil in Skywest livery but the majority are in VA livery. Skywest still has their own AOC and Maintenance team.

Aircraft History
This plane has quite the history, being leased all over the place until sealing a fate with Skywest and later VA. As of December 2017 the plane is 24.6 y/o, indicating it is an early A320.

Warm Regards,

And yes, I would like this livery to be in IF considering its history with Ansett and Virgin. I love the colour 😍

This is an amazing feature request, incredibly detailed. The livery itself is simple but I’ve given it a vote!
