Sky Drawings Thread – Create Art with Flight Paths! 🎨

:airplane: Sky Drawings Challenge – Create Art with Flight Paths! :art:

Introduction

Have you ever wanted to draw pictures in the sky with your flight path? Now’s your chance! Welcome to the Sky Drawings Challenge, a fun community challenge where your flight plan becomes your paintbrush.

In this challenge, anyone can suggest a simple drawing—like a logo, symbol, or shape—and pilots will attempt to trace the image on the world map using their flight paths. The results? A sky masterpiece drawn with your aircraft! :art:

Example: My “2025” Sky Drawing

To kick off the challenge, here’s a New Year’s 2025 sky drawing I created! The numbers were carefully planned, and I added a firework effect to celebrate:

It was a fun challenge to execute : )

How to Participate?

:one: Suggest a Drawing
Have an idea for a sky drawing? Reply below with a simple shape, logo, or symbol that would be fun to draw!

  • Examples: The Infinite Flight logo, Airline logos, emojis, etc…

:two: Pick a Drawing to Fly
Scroll through the suggestions and pick one that interests you. Then, plan a flight route that will create the shape on the world map.

  • No aircraft restrictions—use whatever you like!
  • Choose a quiet airspace (as to not be an interference to any others).

:three: Fly & Draw!
Load up your custom flight plan and carefully fly the pattern to trace the drawing. This is where creativity meets precision!

:four: Share Your Results
Once completed, reply to the original suggestion comment with:
:white_check_mark: A screenshot of your flight path showing the drawing
:white_check_mark: A short caption or any fun details about your experience

This keeps everything organized, and each suggested drawing will have its own thread of attempts.

:small_blue_diamond: Be Creative! Suggest fun or unique ideas—challenge the community!
:small_blue_diamond: Encourage Others! Like and comment on cool sky drawings.
:small_blue_diamond: Try Multiple Drawings! The more pilots who participate, the more amazing artwork we’ll see!

:warning: Rules & Guidelines

:heavy_check_mark: Follow all IFC guidelines—all drawings must be appropriate.
:heavy_check_mark: Fly respectfully—avoid busy airspaces unless coordinating with ATC.
:heavy_check_mark: Have fun! There are no winners or losers—it’s all about creativity!

Let’s turn the sky into our canvas! :earth_africa: Who’s ready to fly some artwork? Drop your suggestions below and let’s get creative!

I do these before a plane is released lol. Drawing the logo of the manufacturer or something.

Someone should recreate the last 747 art. Or for a bit of a challenge, try doing the kangaroo that the last Qantas 747 did.

That’s a great suggestion. Might try that!

I made it!

I chose to fly the whole route, from KPAE to KCVG

(I am still spawned in and en-route to KCVG if anyone wants to track , callsign: Giant 107  )

This may not be from infinite flight but this was my flight path after trying to land at Vagar in Faroe islands 4 times. Winds had 20 knot gusts and the visibility was low, there was no ILS avaible which made it extreme.

Had fun drawing this. I think this illustrates perfectly where my vote goes

It involves quite a bit of google earth but it’s not complicated at all, I found a tutorial here:
