Today, we’re flying out of Skardu, Pakistan, one of the world’s highest and most infamous airports. It’s kind of like the Aspen, Innsbruck or Queenstown of Pakistan. Without further ado, let’s hop on board!

Boarding in Skardu was fast and simple- there is no real terminal building.

Rotating after a long backtaxi, we were close to full throttle and on flaps 2 due to the high altitude

Climbing out of the Skardu valley. Our pilot hand-flew the teardrop departure, taking us banking steeply to avoid terrain and flying through valleys. After we were safely above the terrain, our pilot engaged AP to climb.

Banking to avoid an especially tall peak

Levelled off at FL300. There was no service or IFE on this 30-minute hop but the scenery was more than enough entertainment

As we descended into Islamabad, we were intercepted by an F-16 scrambled from Skardu. He escorted us all the way to short final, did a go-around and landed at ISB as well.

Parked at the domestic terminal after a truly scenic flight

Great shots! I can’t even imagine how immensely cool this flight would be IRL.
