This is the first leg of the trip from Australia to the United States on Singapore Airlines, aboard its largest aircraft, the A380. Currently, Singapore operates 12 of the colossal superjumbos, tied for second place with British Airways for the number in its fleet, with only Emirates exceeding them. These aircraft are used on high-demand routes, serving places such as Tokyo-Narita, Mumbai, London-Heathrow, Sydney, Frankfurt, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, and Hong Kong. Until around 2017 or so, they also served LAX via Narita as well, being replaced that year by the 777-300ER. With the possible exceptions of Emirates and Etihad, Singapore’s A380s are the nost luxurious examples in service.
