Singapore Airlines A350 to start flights to Wellington NZ

Singapore Airlines officially announced today (20/8/2019) that it will start A350-900 flights replacing the 777-200ER and increase flights to 5 times a week due to the 35% increase of people travelling from Asia. The A350-900 will begin flights to Wellington on 1st of November.

Visitors from Asia and Europe are spending $73m more than before services started to Wellington three years ago. This was made possible because of a connecting between the Wellington council, Wellingtonnz (tourism agency) and other Asia tourism agency’s.

Singapore Airlines will be the first airline to offer premium economy and lie flat business class seats. Passengers travelling economy will get to fly in Singapore Airlines new ergonomically designed economy seats. To Wellington

The A350 aircraft will continue the same route
Singapore (WSSS) - Melbourne (YMML) - Wellington (NZWN)
Returning flight will be the same going
Wellington - Melbourne - Singapore

This will be a great addition to Wellington.

That’s good for the city of Wellington, their airport only serves 6,000,000 people a year, so a major hub connection will definitely have its benefits.

6,000,000 for now. They are trying to buy some of the golf course and expand the airport to add more domestic services
